NEW Announcement: iAdapt announces Genero GBC 5.00.11 new features and upgrade notes iAdapt is pleased to announce that Four J’s have released a Maintenance Release of Genero Browser Client 5.00.11. What's new for GBC... New degraded mode alerts: The degraded mode feature provides information when certain functions of GBC might not work properly due to limitations in the environment or configuration. GBC supports the headerPosition presentation style attribute for setting the position of column headers (the name of the columns) relative to the field position. This attribute applies only to flipped table rendering. There has been a review of the visual feedback shown to the user when they hover, click/touch, and focus field widgets and buttons in the GBC. Several theme variables were added to control the new visual feedback. New variables are introduced for setting theme state (hover, focus, active) for widgets. The usage of old CSS classes should be considered obsolete and be replaced with the new name. Some changes have been applied to JavaScript, we recommend that you review your existing customizations for some elements.

iAdapt invited to discuss exclusion of South African ERP software vendors in the IFMS tender aware process |
||
The program was shown on channel 405 on Sunday 18th June and included an esteemed panel of analysts to discuss the flouting of the tender process's in favour of Oracle.. Our readers can go to the following links noted below in order to gain better insight into this major controversial issue.
PURCHASE OF INTEGRATED FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SOFTWARE LICENCES CONCLUDED
There will be further follow ups and expose's relating to this as this is not the first time this has happened.
In 2007 SAP was awarded the HR and Payroll component of the IFMS (iteration #2) and the erstwhile SITA Executive that awarded the tender to Gijima - just happened to join Gijima shortly after the awarding of the contract. That component was R800m for licenses and a further R400m for services.
Prior to that award the IFMS Supply Chain component (iteration #1) was awarded to ICT-Works for a "bespoke solution: which ended up being a customized version of Oracle ERP SCM modules. Again all of these projects are now for nought as it will all be replaced by another version of Oracle!
So essentially the moment any Executive finds a need for a new position in Software and the two ERP conglomerates, SAP and ORacle, need to reach new numbers then suddenly IFMS/ERP tenders appear out of the blue and Billions of Rands are squandered with absolutely nothing to show for it. But SITA and Treasury continues slogging ahead with these tenders.
And for all the technological research and development done in SA, it is a really sad state of affairs when South African companies are SPECIFICALLY excluded from these tender process's.
And there is no specific reason for this delinquent view about our solutions.

iAdapt successfully delivers Genero project ahead of time |
||
Windhoek, Namibia -6 th March 2017- iAdapt implements FourJ's Genero, an
application development environment that helps customers create innovative
database applications and modernize existing legacy code, has successfully
been implemented for all 300 users within SSC during a 6 month major upgrade
and overhaul of their Benefit Fund Management system To better manage their current legacy environment Social Security Commission decided to entrust its entire Fund Management upgrade and conversion to the South African based Software Development company iAdapt. Social Security Commission is the only organization within Namibia that currently manages and disburses payments socially based on business rules to all its citizens for maternity, disabilit, pension and Workman's Compensation. This project was deemed to be a very high profile project with Senior Government Ministers and the SSC Board of Directors taking a keen interest in the project delivery - as it affected every single citizen of Namibia.
The Challenge for SSC: The Legacy Environment SSC invested in the legacy Unix environment in the mid 1990's and using the iAdapt Business Development Framework Tools (iBDF), developed a complex and business process driven Social Fund Management system. It went live in 1998 on the Hewlett Packard platforms. As was typically the case in the 90's the User Interface was Text based and the User Experience was extremely limited. Further issues compounding the environment was the lack of Unix and RBMS based skills. A final compounding factor was that the current HP Servers had outlived their useful life and were literally running on empty - there were no drivers for printers, no backup facilities and the hard drives had started to fail over. HP no longer kept the 1997 version of the Hard drives in stock - which posed a massive risk at SSC. Lastly the version of their Accounting system was also no longer supported and they were compelled to upgrade to the new SAGE L1000 web based version. Therefore the upgrade and conversion had to include the SAGE product and the current table level integration had to be carried over to the new environment. Integration testing was of paramount importance. And it was this Risk that the Board of SSC had to mitigate against by accepting the Project.

The Solution: iAdapt and FourJ's |
||
In June 2016, the Board of Directors at SSC awarded the multi-million N$ Conversion and Upgrade project to iAdapt to undertake this mammoth task. The Project commenced officially on the 1 st September 2016 and the Project Plan Go Live date of 14 th February was considered to be cast in stone, as the entire upgrade had to be signed off and delivered before the 28 th February 2017 - which coincided with their fiscal Year End. The solution entailed a number of steps in the process and these were
The result of this collaboration and project, is that iAdapt delivered on its mandate to sign off and "Went" Live 6 days earlier than the initial project date. This was a monumental feat in that a previous attempt at an upgrade resulted in more than a year being spent just on Testing Phase which unfortunately failed. All 300 users in the 16 Branches and Satellite offices have successfully been using the system since the 8 th February 2017 - which was the date the system was switched from Test to Live. Social Security committed its entire Technical and IT team to this project who all ensured that the project was delivered on time and on budget. Their immense efforts were well rewarded when the system went live. |

iAdapt release e-Recruitment module |

South African owned software development company iAdapt has released its
eagerly awaited fully integrated web based e-Recruitment module. This new
module manages the process from the time a candidate's info is entered onto
the system right up until a person is accepted and transferred onto the
Personnel module and in turn the Payroll module - all automatically and
online real time. This module compliments the other iAdapt developed and
fully integrated web based component modules called iAdapt Web HR Portals
which encompasses Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service and finally
e-Recruitment (the rest of our ERP system such as e-Procurement is still
under development).
|
||
Web Services |
||
A future release will ensure that once the candidate has verified and
accepted his CV on the system then the system will automatically generate a
web service to a service provider whereby all the candidates biological and
academic background is verified including criminal and credit checking. This
process will be seamless to the company which automatically eliminates the
need for reference checking of standard information.
